SCCA is pleases to announce a new Road Bike Category for Inter-Club SB Sports Injuries Series
Riders will gain points in this competition based on their placing against other riders on Road Bikes.
It is the responsibility of riders to mark to sign on sheet as competing on a Road Bike to gain points. It is not the responsibility of the prompting club to identify qualifying riders.
Although it is hoped that all member clubs will promote this category, riders should check with the organizing club.
SCCA Road Bike Regulations
Road Bike
- The road bike can possess drop or straight handlebars
- No tri-bars, clip-on bars or Spinacci bars are allowed
- No disc wheels
- Both front & rear wheels must have at least 12 spokes each
- The maximum rim depth allowed is 90mm
Helmets
The use of long or short-tail time trial-specific helmets is not permitted. Any removable items such as a visor, cover or taped up vents are also not permitted. The helmet must not cover any part of the ear.
Riding Position
Points of contact with the bike will be predominantly feet, rear and hands only. Positions involving resting forearms on the handlebars are not permitted. N.B: Incidental contact due to riding position with the wrists and forearms (e.g. not providing any support via a pseudo time trial position) is permitted.
Alleged violations of Road Bike rules may be investigated under CTT Rule 1 procedure if reported by officials, marshals or other competitors.
