There were new leaders at the top of the SB Sports Injuries Series and SB Veterans Series after Round 11 as riders not so interested in football matters took advantage to pile on the points in Hafren CC’s 10 and enjoy an almost traffic free road. Held on the fast Berriew – Welshpool course Dean Callister not only took the win he also moved to the head of the SB Series with a fabulous effort of 20 minutes 39 seconds to seal victory by 55 seconds. The Nova Raider overhauled long time Series leader Henri Bedford by 10 points with his fifth win of the Series on a glorious evening. He commented: “It was a great night for racing with a nice warm evening, although there was more of a headwind on the return than I would have liked, but I was pleased with time on the night. I always enjoy that course – thanks to Hafren CC for putting the event on and all involved”.

The rider in runner-up spot Overall also had reason to celebrate as Jonathan Mills-Keeling moved to the top of the SB Veterans Series. Mills–Keeling posted a fine Actual of 21:34, and his Veterans mark of +5:12 also gained him the runner-up spot in that competition, with the 18 points gained enough to overhaul Chris Halford by four points. The Bridgnorth CC rider commented: “It was a nice night with quiet roads; I enjoyed the course – thanks to everyone involved”.

Mills-Keeling pushed out another Nova Raider by 24 seconds, although Mark Pritchard was pleased with the high placing an his performance to register 21:58, pushing out team mate Andy Rose by 15 seconds: “I was happy to get third place, the roads were nice and quiet due to the football and I managed to get my best power of the season – thanks to Hafren CC for putting on the event”.

Mills-Keeling was usurped to Veterans honours thanks to the presence of a rider finally finding her legs after injury as Deb Hutson-Lumb registered a fine +6:01 to take the maximum 20 points on offer. She wasn’t finished there either as her Actual time of 24 minutes exactly took the win in the Women’s race from Oswestry Paragon’s Helen Tudor on 27:37. Hutson-Lumb stated: “I was hoping to break 24 minutes but I was still pleased with the ride as my power is creeping up – thanks to everyone running the event on one of my favourite courses”.
