A new racing season is just around the corner with the Shropshire reliability programme in full swing to gain that fitness. This issue concentrates on County level race dates, and changes in the world of the sport’s governing body, Cycling Time Trials (CTT), particularly rules governing Road Bike competitions.

CTT New Website
CTT have a new website with extra functionality: www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk. At present data is being migrated in a phased transfer programme, so some historic data, especially past results remains on the old legacy website now re-pointed to: www.legacy.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk. New functionality includes identifying courses and events within a chosen radius of your location; and it is intended that many club events will appear on the site shortly.
CTT Road Bike Regulation 15b
CTT have updated and renumbered their regulation governing entries to the Road Bike class in events (Type A, Open Events). The full regulations are contained within the CTT Handbook in flipbook form here: https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/handbook although it is much easier to navigate if you download a copy.
The practicality of managing some of these changes has been questioned with CTT National to provide clarification, but SCCA have updated their Road Bike rules affecting all County time trials which are less proscriptive in the the definition of “Road Bike”
